Pat Hull upholds a belief that entrepreneurs should serve as civic leaders to help build their reputation and seek new business opportunities in socially rewarding ways.
A big believer in the power of human potential, Hull brings an entrepreneurial approach to his philanthropic endeavors. In 2009, he founded The Hull Foundation which distributes gifts to various charitable causes. He founded Richmond Unite in 2010 as a fundraising vehicle for local charities in Richmond, VA. In its inaugural year, Richmond Unite supported more than two dozen charities. More recently, Hull has been a loyal supporter and steadfast contributor to UnBoundRVA, an organization that leads business-inspired individuals from Richmond’s low-income communities into entrepreneurship. In 2018, Hull established the first entrepreneurism scholarship at VCU Brandcenter, awarded annually to a student demonstrating keen interest in entrepreneurship.
Hull extends his philanthropic energy worldwide, through community organizations such as the Elton John Aids Foundation and Virgin Unite. Through his longtime involvement in the Eve Branson Foundation, Hull has funded a carpentry center for boys in Morocco, arming them with skills that will help them earn an income and create greater opportunities for their futures.
“It was truly wonderful to see our newest endeavours in full swing…Among the many special guests at the occasion was Patrick Hull, maverick entrepreneur and longtime EBF supporter, who has been single-handedly responsible for funding the carpentry centre for boys.”
The Hull Foundation also has been a supporter of the Boys Home of Virginia, Virginia Capital Trail Foundation, Alzheimer’s Association, Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and Runway2Life, a program of the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
Seeing the world from new perspectives has driven Pat Hull not only in his business pursuits, but also his hobbies. When Virgin Galactic launches into spaceflight in the coming years, Hull will be among the first commercial customers.
